#Acquired leader

Being thrust into the realm of leadership after a sudden promotion, he struggled to keep up with his newfound responsibilities, resistance from other employees, and skill gaps from the lack of training.

Through leadership coaching, he worked with his assigned coach to come up with the leadership style that fits his personal resources and the team’s needs, amplify his natural instincts and intuition to navigate disagreements and internal conflicts with his reports, and pinpoint time management strategies that work best for him to deal with the overwhelm. The coach was also able to address negative self-talk habits that affected his self-confidence and image, which helped him position himself better vis-a-vis his colleagues.

#Leadership burnout

After working her way to top-level management, she started to notice symptoms of burnout and was slowly losing interest and purpose in the work she does–despite taking great pride in her achievement and role.

The priority for her coach was to guide her to remedy her burnout by asking the right questions to raise her awareness to the hidden, true reasons that caused it. Then, they worked together to counter the negative behaviours (inability to delegate, hesitation to advocate for her needs, difficulty setting boundaries, etc.) that were restricting her within the burn-out cycle. This opened the door for her to take back control over both her work and personal life by providing a much-needed breathing space and enabled her to get back in touch with her original interest and purpose in work.
